Terms & Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all transactions on thebeadbase.co.uk. Placing an order indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully. 

In these Terms and Conditions, all references to Us/We/Our refers to The Bead Base as a company.

All references to You/Your refers to you, the customer.

 

Making Your Order/Payment

·           Items are purchased by credit or debit card using our payment providers SagePay or PayPal.

·           You will have the option to purchase items as a guest, but all orders must provide us with your exact billing address and telephone number – the address and phone number your credit card bank has on file for you. Incorrect information will cause a delay in the processing of your order.

·           Your order will only be processed once authorisation of your credit/debit card has been properly received or your PayPal payment has been cleared.

·           In the event of a delay in processing your payment, we will always contact you to let you know.

 

Pricing of Goods

·           All prices on our website are quoted in GBP Sterling (£).

·           The Bead Base reserves the right to change, without notice, any pricing in the case of error or in the case of manufacturers increasing cost of materials.

 

Dispatch and Delivery

·           We will aim to dispatch goods within 24 hours of receiving payment, subject to availability. All goods remain the property of The Bead Base until this time.

·           Please note, we do not deliver outside of the UK at this time.

·           We will only deliver goods to the delivery address on the order.

·           We do not take responsibility for late or non-delivery due to factors outside of our control.

·           Once goods have been delivered to your door, you are responsible for them.

·           Any transit damage to the goods must be noted on the delivery consignment note at the time of delivery.

·           All orders will be sent with your preferred method of delivery.

·           Our cut off time for next day delivery is 2pm Tuesday-Friday. Any orders made after this time, or over a weekend, will be sent out on our next working day; Tuesday, and will arrive with you on the following day, Wednesday. Although we cannot guarantee this.

·           Unfortunately, deliveries are not fool-proof. If you do not receive your package on the expected day, please let us know and we will do our best to find out where the package has got to if it was sent by a tracked service.

 

Postage and Packing Fees

·           Most of our orders will be sent Royal Mail, either signed for, or next day special delivery.

·           Orders over 5kg will be posted Parcel Force.

·           Up to 100g:

-          Signed for 1st Class - £2.11 (1-2 working days)

-          Signed for 2nd Class - £1.89 (3 working days)

·           Up to 250g:

-          Signed for 1st Class - £2.50 (1-2 working days)

·           Up to 500g:

-          Signed for 1st Class - £4.45 (1-2 working days)

·           Up to 1kg

-          Signed for 1st Class - £6.75 (1-2 working days)

·           Up to 2kg

Quality of Goods and Product Consistency

·           In the case of beads that have been handmade, or with natural origins, including, but not limited to; semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, shell, wood, horn, lampwork glass, hand-cut crystals, fimo and porcelain, etc., sizes, shapes and colours may vary and should therefore be allowed for.

·           If a bead is handmade, or of natural origins, it will be noted in the product description.

·           Bead mixes are mixed ‘in house’ and over time may subtly change. If you have a project in mind, it is recommended that you purchase all the beads necessary at the same time to avoid any inconsistencies in the types of beads, or mild colour differences.

·           As with bead mixes, certain dyed beads should also be purchased together. The Bead Base takes no responsibility if beads ordered are of a different dye lot to a previous purchase made by you in the past.

·           We will endeavour to make sure all dyed beads are noted in the product description to the best of our knowledge.

·           We have tried to photograph products to the best of our ability to give an accurate portrayal of the true colour of the products. If a product does not meet your expectation, please let us know and we can discuss the return/exchange of the goods.

 

Returns – faulty/non-faulty goods

·           The Bead Base hopes you will be happy with your purchase, however, if you are not completely satisfied, you may return the goods within 14 days of purchase and we will be happy to offer a refund.

·           When returning items, you must contact us first. Either call us on 01256 227048, or email us at [email protected].

·           In the case of non-faulty goods, all items to be returned must be unopened and in their original packaging. We will not accept items that have been opened, taken off their stings, cut stringing supplies, or cut chain unless they are faulty in some way.

·           All faulty goods must be reported to us within 14 days of delivery. We accept no responsibility after this time.

·           Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, if you are contracting with us as a consumer online or by phone, you have the right to cancel your contract at any time up to 14 working days after the day on which you receive your goods. This 14 day period is the time you have to decide whether to cancel. From the point of cancellation, you then have a further 14 days to send the goods back to us.

·           If you do not return the goods within 14 days after you have informed us that you wish to cancel your order, your right to cancel will be withdrawn.

·           If you have paid a delivery charge, this will also be refunded, but if you are only returning part of the order, then we are not obliged to repay any of the delivery charge.

·           You will be wholly responsible for the return of the goods and any associated cost of return.

·           We do not issue credit notes.

·           We cannot provide refunds on items made to order or cut to size.

·           We are unable to offer refunds or exchanges for patterns.

·           Current EU Hygiene regulations mean that we are unable to refund or exchange earring findings for pierced ears.

·           We will only provide a refund when we receive the goods back to us. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you obtain proof of posting as we cannot accept responsibility for parcels lost in transit.

 

Pattern Policy

·           All patterns will be printed by us and sent to you by post.

·           You are welcome to use our patterns to create your own items to wear or display.

·           Patterns designed and created by us are our intellectual property and to reproduce, share, teach or re-sell them without our permission is a breach of our copyright.

·           Items made with our patterns with the intension of selling must have the designers information somewhere included. This will be noted on the pattern itself.

 

Gift Vouchers

·           Gift vouchers are available to purchase in store only. These are not redeemable online.

Privacy Policy

·           The Bead Base is committed to protecting your privacy. As such the information we collect will be used to process your orders and enable us to provide a service to the best of our ability.

·           The Bead Base will only keep information provided by you when you first register as a new customer. This allows us to process your orders and contact you should there be any queries.

·           We do not have access to customer’s credit or debit card details as all payments are handled by PayPal and SagePay.

·           Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) is a set of standards to help protect businesses and shoppers from fraud and data theft. As a trusted payment service provider, SagePay is compliant to the highest level – PCI DSS Level 1. It is mandatory for all companies to comply by getting a PCI certificate. The Bead Base holds a PCI DSS compliancy certificate.

·           The Bead Base will not keep a record of your credit/debit card/PayPal details.

·           You have the option to withhold personal information that is not required for the order process.

·           We value your privacy and will not sell your information to any third parties under any circumstance.

·           If you subscribe to our newsletter, you may be confident that your email address will be used for that purpose.

·           We may use your email on the very rare occasions to send out important information regarding updates to our Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

·           If you wish to unsubscribe from our newsletter, you can do so by emailling [email protected] with the Subject Title 'Unsubscribe'.

·           We reserve the right to update, modify, and/or change this Privacy Policy at any time.

·           If you believe that any information we are holding on you in incorrect or incomplete, please write or email us as soon as possible using the Contact Us page on our website. We will promptly correct any information.
